CSNICC celebrate at annual Awards Dinner

Civil Service North of Ireland Cricket Club (CSNI) recently held their annual Awards Dinner at the Pavilion, Stormont.CSNICC3

The Awards night was a chance for all senior players and partners to relax and celebrate the clubs successes throughout the season. They heard from Ireland International, Surrey Cricket Star and Club man, Gary Wilson, who regaled the crowd with tales about on and off the field with Ireland and Surrey. Later in the night Neil Dougan provided a stand-up comedian act which had everyone in fits of laughter.

Speaking at the Awards Dinner Club Chairman, Ivan McMinn, said: "This season has seen the club consolidate its mid table Premier League status while also enjoying success in the Irish Senior Cup and Challenge Cup by reaching the semi-finals of both. There was also success for the 5th XI who lifted the Minor Qualifying Cup. It has been a busy season both on and off the field as we look to drive the club forward by implementing our long term plans as we search for further success in 2016 and beyond. It is pleasing to see so many club stalwarts here tonight and everyone was delighted to hear from Gary who first learnt his cricket at CSNI before moving to Surrey in 2008."

Between courses the serious business took place as the various club awards were handed out and as the players waited with bated breath, it was probably the quietest part of the night!CSNICC4

George Wilson was made an Honorary Life Member at the Awards. In a fitting presentation George received the award from his son and guest speaker, Gary Wilson.

The Club recognised the success of the Under 15 team who won the Graham Cup earlier in the season with each squad player being presented with a token of the clubs appreciation.

An enjoyable night was had by all who attended and with the Winter Academy already underway, success next season is definitely in the club's sights.
