Cricket Coaching Qualification - Welcome to Cricket
For those of you who may be interested in getting involved with or cricket coaching, after 4 successful courses in the last 4 years, Templepatrick Cricket Club in conjunction with Cricket Ireland are running the following coaching course at their ground (The Cloughan, Doagh Road , Ballyclare)
Welcome to Cricket Thursday 28th April - 5.30pm till 9pm
This course will allow coaches to work with young players on introducing basic cricket skills to them and provide coaches with a range of games that can be used with players to further develop their cricket experience.
This course is a good starter for those people with limited cricket experience or limited experience in working with young players and allow you to assist other qualified coaches.
The cost of the course is £10
Who can attend? Answer - Anyone over the age of 15 years old.
Attendee Requirements: There is no assessment to be completed during this course. Participants however are required to attend all components of the course in order to receive a certificate of participation.
Accreditation: Attendees will receive a certificate of participation at the completion of the course.
Cricket Ireland are hugely grateful for the support of Templepatrick Cricket Club for facilitating these hugely important courses as Cricket continues to grow exponentially at many levels throughout the country.
The course will be outdoors so please bring warm clothing. If the weather is unkind to us on that evening we will be able to use the hall in the clubhouse:
Please get in touch with Andy McCrea if you are interested on mccrea.a@sky.com or 07811 737047
Ivan,
I totally agree that dandekar is a super signing, cracking player. I would think Section 1 will be as tight as ever, plenty of teams in with a shout this season. Yourselves, Ballymena, Woodvale, hopefully us and im sure the likes of Bangor, Academy and Armagh will be pushing too. I personally cannot wait for the local derbies with Saintfield, they are sure to be fun.
Well done, Oman.
Now, hopefully, all those idiots claiming we should have Test status can recognise this as a massive reality check and shut up for good.
Good last over from Sorensen!!!! NOT.
I think Muckamore's announcement that last year's pro A V Dandekar is coming back for 2016 shows serious intent to be in the battle for promotion back to the top flight. A V before he was injured last season showed that he was capable of scoring heavily as well as being a useful off break bowler.
I think this will be one of the tightest title races for many years with up to half a dozen sides in with a chance.
sorry to learn of Denis Tunnah's death. He had worked with Flossie in Ordinance Survey and always asked about her when I would meet him at Woodvale. Another Ballygomartin stalwart gone and so soon after Jack Storey. We extend our sympathy to his family circle.
Lazars to Lisburn , Britton leaving CIYMS . In the next few weeks we will probably see a few other moves as clubs bid for titles and survival. PL could be a very competitive league in 2016 while the scramble for promotion from Section One could be tighter than ever. Good for cricket followers.
was talking to John Moore of Chichester Street and he sends his best wishes to Hiler as do the Kennedys
Thanks for your kind comments and I am sure Jeff when we tell him about a round a Royal Co Down it will have him asking for his clubs !
We have been overwhelmed by the best wishes from the cricketing community and pass them all onto Clarence.
regards, Steve
I am both stunned and sadded in equal measure to hear the news about Clarence. I would like to convey my best wishes at this difficult time and I hope to see you fit and well down at The Green this summer down at the far end with the 'critics'. It has definitely made a real difference to the club having both a fortright cricketing mind and a warm, friendly and visible President at the helm.
Want to thank Alan Chambers and Portadown Taverners for their invitation to Goal Line for the table cricket unveiling. The kids clearly loved it if the laughing and squealing was anything to go by. Well done on raising the money and raising the role of cricket and disability. Genuinely uplifting and humbling.
Sorry to hear about Hiler. I'm sure everyone "on" here sends him their best. Please pass on best wishes. And do do, if you can, keep the forum going.
Check out the Taverners playing table cricket with the youth reach group from Goal Line youth centre.
