You could be right Simon to much time on my hands, the sooner the new cricket season starts the better me thinks !
Caleb, were there are men in white coats ?
What with it being a fine spring morning, cool admittedly but bright & dry and having just watched the high-lights of a David Warner inspired victory by the Aussies over Sri-lanka in the first ODI of a 3 match final commonwealth series, I just had to get outside and up to the football pitches in Moira demense in order to get some hard yards put in at some fast bowling.
My problem was though, with no-one about the house this morning apart from wee Oscar, I just hadn't the heart to leave him on his own barking his head off, despite already having had his early morning's walk.
You see, although he's not a great cricket dog, the Shi-tzu breed hates being left alone, they're bred for companion-ship and just love any sort of company to pass the time with and besides all that, he loves getting outside for a walk or any sort of a run-about, no matter how often.
Problem solved ! It was a managerie I know, but after a little thought I gathered up my cricket gear, Thumper & Flopsy our pet bunnies put them into their travel box, put Oscar on his lead and headed through the car-park, up the path ignoring the funny looks from passers-by and then finally onto the football pitches.
I tied Oscar's lead to the rabbit's box with him attached, picked some newly grown dandy-lion leaves for the bunnies which they were very grateful for, left them all there watching happily as I proceeded to work up a sweat and no small amount of pace, firing the cricket balls down at the single stump.
Moral of the story, Practice makes perfect, don't shirk on it even if the neighbours are talking !

Not bad realist, not bad at all !
Could I make a suggestion, maybe you should take a sabatical from cricket this season and have a go at the comedy?
It might clear away all that gloom gathered inside your head and as well, you'll be a much refreshed/better cricketer when you return the following year!
Here's 'a cracker' to get you started,
Man goes into a pet shop and says to the assistant, " I want to buy a wasp".
Assistant says, "we don't sell wasps"!
Man says, " Are you sure ? Cause there's one flying about your front shop window" !!
R.I.P. Frank Carson.........Brilliant commedian, brilliant man!
no charl daubney at derriaghy this year hope to be back next all being well.

help.... trying to shop for a new cricket bat and since i havent bought one in like 7 years i didnt realise how pricey they are now, any recommendations of bats that are decent but not extortionate. A few of our guys got CA bats last year that are pretty good , so at the minute it is looking like a winner
Taito, fair to say I'm a bit biased but yes CA for starters, SS is another option. I'm on holiday at the minute but give me a shout when you get back and I'll sort.
