Wow! Thats a big loss for our seconds. He was a decent medium-fast bowler and was devoloping his batting. Whats your name Waring?
unfortunately waringstown 2nds have also lost stu kidd to milpark so that will be a big lost to the 2nds.
Thanks for that update Waring. Did not know Ben was not coming back. He is a talented player. Its a shame because he was a decent all rounder although he will probably get first team cricket with Lurgan.
Yes indeed Andy,we really are playing our namesakes over in 'bonny' Scotland on a short pre-season tour, although sadly neither our 'Pro' nor myself can make the trip. What a coincidense you bumping into their team and as I've said, glad you put the 'frightners' on them already !!!
On a seperate note, just watching the Bangladesh-v-England ODI. The two South-African 'Englishmen' have failed with the bat,but the Irish 'Englishman' is going well, very strong playing across the line!!!!
Funny enough, when I look at the Bangladesh team, I can't seem to pick out any South African or Irish 'Bangladeshians'!!!!!
Vic - so I wasn't all that tired & emotional - you guys really are touring in the Glasgow area. I should point out that the guys I was talking to were "rockets" so you will clearly have a ball
I had heard that lurgan pro was coming back. They have also signed Ben McKnight from Waringstown 2ths.
Dundrum is without doubt one of the highlights of the season. However, the bowling of Vic Jons did give me a creak in my neck!! Was worried someone was going to drown fetching the ball after some of his deliveries!
Good work Andy ! Give them the 'jitters' already !!
Gary, I know Ballymena have signed the former Derriaghy pro (Alphy or something) I also hear that the Lurgan pro Godbole is not coming back(not too sure though). To be honest after seeing the team play once against Downpatrick last year, Lurgan will not be strong enough to compete unless they strengthen their squad considerbly! But who knows
Have Instonians, Downpatrick, Lurgan and Ballymena confirmed who their overseas players are for the 2010 season yet?
just back from a most enjoyable evening in the company of the West of Scotland umpires at their annual dinner in Paisley. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of guys from the Victoria (Glasgow) club and whilst it was a late stage in the evening when things were somewhat hazy they mentioned that they were looking forward to entertaining their Co. Armagh namesakes later in the year. They seemed rather perturbed when I warned them that Lurgan boys may be bringing their senior pro!
Park-ranger or Robbie Streat ?
Don't know who is who,or who has the 'well oiled bat'.
But you know what I'm saying anyway, don't you???
Wayne,
Dundrum is a lovely place to play cricket, except when you get hit for six a few times into 'yawn' river, as happened to me last season!!
But there will be 'no-repeat' this time round, when we travel back down there later this season,I can assure you!
Park-ranger,hope that new well-oiled bat of your's is up for some 'Bashing' at the lawn, when this highly publicised and eagerly anticipated 5ths-v-3rds match takes place,or has the wood-worm started ate'ing into the middle of it; Already ? Just like all your old bats before!!!
I'm away on now, can't waste time on here!!
Your right Wayne! Good luck at Muckamore mate!
what date is dundrum Muckamore? dundrum is one of the few grounds I have not played at in the ncu and I cannot wait. By the sounds of it I hope we have no sunday match!! Roll on the start of the season.
