CRICKETIRELAND AND BOOMBOOM ANNOUNCE KIT DEAL

Cricket Ireland today announced the launch of a new kit and merchandising deal with BoomBoom Cricket.

The deal will see BoomBoom become the official kit supplier to the Irish international teams and the exclusive global merchandising partner to Cricket Ireland.

The deal, announced at the official kit launch in Stormont this afternoon, is a four year deal up to and including the 2015 ICC World Cup. Under the terms of the deal BoomBoom will supply team kit, replica kit and merchandise, and playing equipment to all of Ireland’s national squads including the Senior Men’s and Women’s teams, development and underage teams.

As part of the deal BoomBoom announced the creation of a development fund to be used by Cricket Ireland for the continued growth of the game on the island of Ireland. A proportion of sales of BoomBoom products in Ireland will be channelled into the development fund and used for various projects to ensure the long-term development of the game.

Commenting on the new deal Warren Deutrom, CEO Cricket Ireland, said “We are delighted to announce our new partnership with BoomBoom Cricket. We chose BoomBoom after a competitive tendering process and we did so on the basis of their proven technical experience in cricket, innovative product design, and commitment to becoming a long-term partner in the development of the game in Ireland.”

The new kit was unveiled in a press conference with members of the Irish men’s squad modelling the new ODI kit and training gear. Phil Simmons Coach of the Irish Men’s Team said “We are really excited about wearing our new BoomBoom kit. We have worked closely with BoomBoom in the design of the playing and training gear ensuring it gives us a performance edge. The use of high performance materials and tapered playing and training shirts meets our requirements for competing with the very best sides in International cricket.”

The Ireland team will be wearing the new kit for the first time in the RSA Series against Pakistan commencing tomorrow in Belfast. Replica shirts went on sale in various retail outlets today and will be available for purchase in Stormont throughout the RSA Series and at all future Ireland games.
