LMAO Davy.

Well done for exacting a revenge of sorts on Dundrum and good luck for the Green Shield Stamps final. If it is raining I'm sure Bod will get the hairdryer out again.

PS. Note for spectators. If Cliftonville are batting don't be late!

THE JUNIOR CUP HANGOVER

9th Aug 2009

davy . apart from result had great day thats what sport is about , before the usual craic goes that THE PATTERSONS beat us Dundrum lost too a very good all round team that can & will compete again in any league as sometimes the enjoyment off just playing money cannot pay for, was superb gettin for my only chance of lifting the superb JUNIOR CUP & think its shows that their is a lot of good respect between a lot of clubs & long may that happen + DAVY i did say at Dundrum that yous would beat us & thanks for the pint bet , i was hoping that at 94 for 0 that yous would stuffed us by 10 WICKETS as proves that any team can not perform . ps hope too see yous next year on a ground that is full of potential , so good luck in cup next week & if neil gill wants bet ill have 3 pints on cliftonville?pps cant believe GREENLEES didnt sing

Ref Staffy
Just thought i'd let you know Paul that the Cliftonville boys are feeling 'fine' again after exorcising our Dundrum demons yesterday. Bad days are what they are, bad days, only makes the good days all the sweeter.
Had a great night out again with Jeff and the boys at the Academy club as all three teams celebrated the Old boys Junior Cup win. Unlike Taito i paid up Jeff's bet, sorry about the Owls result Jeff , Hope you had a good day out and hopefully see you at Moylena next Sunday for the Ulster Shield Final.

Jeff - if you running a book on the premier league what odds would you give for the 4 candidates? North Down clearly favourites. Inst and Lisburn looking in good nick but what about Waringstown sneaking in there unnoticed? Promises to be a fascinating end to the season!

NCU decisions? - last season mix up about overs so the Ballymena - Woodvale game is declared void. This season mix up about overs - result in the Cliftonville - Muckamore game stands! Simply making the point about the apparent lack of consistency of decision-making.

All of the top three leagues are getting pretty interesting.

Premier league: with Instonians out in front but 4 teams on the same points a win below them. I would have to say i fancy North Down still as the fact that they have done it so many times before they will have the cahoonas to win it again.

Section 1- This weekend could have a big say on how this ends up. A Downpatrick win at Derriaghy should see Lurgan and Downpatrick almost sure of promotion. A Derriaghy win and its still game on.

Section 2- Armagh are looking strong for a swift return to the higher league. Will Saintfield do the same or will Templepatrick or Larne pip them to promotion. I fancy Dickie's men to finish strong and join Armagh in Section 1 next year.

Bobby Dazzler, still have the bat, but it has been relegated to office cricket now (don't ask any questions).
Find it hard to remember much about the night at Fox Lodge, even less about Siller's phone on the way home, but I do remember carrying excalibur into the bar and it being received like the holy grail.

clarence never doubted that you wouldnt cover it & again its well written just would like to add that they are real top fellas , funniest thing it reminded me of my 2nd game back after 2 brain operations ( yes they coundnt find the first time ) i got clapped to the wicket by all their players even big greenlees was tearful but after i hit the first ball to the boundary he informed his team enuff sentimental crap and to get the fat twat( i thought i had lost weight in hospital) out so we can get few beers .lol ps armagh bet you its easier to get davy greenlees out than get the microphone of him as the last time they stayed over in dundrum i thought he was performing his farewell concert . see you sat for more than few beers .

Nice article on Academy Clarence, Im sure we can come up with a new nickname for Jonny 'ironsy' Irons after your article.
Was nice to read up on the history of the club and all the old timers ( only joking BB,BK,DG )
Quite a few similarities between Cliftonville and Academy. I wonder how many players in the past have represented both teams.
Good club to play for. Well done Lads
