is it getting near that time for league position predictions?? always makes interesting reading. Straight to the point there Mark, yeah Dundrum will find it tough and i am sure survival is there aim for this season, it is a big jump, but who knows. There are a lot of teams in that league with similar ability and it might come down to whos pro is better to see who survives.

If you recall Downpatrick nearly scored 400 last year against CSNI who are now talking themselves up for a title push. Could we see them scoring 500 against Dundrum? More than the fish will be gutted if they do, eh Jeff?

Jeff you'll need more than a nice wee ground and a great place to enjoy cricket to survive in this league. Downpatrick will hammer you and you'll be lucky to win more than two games! Good luck as you'll need plenty of it. These websites are great for bumming and blowing as you find out when you read them back after the season is over. I'm not a gambler (don't have the money) but Dundrum would be at least 500/1 to win this league.

jeff i was just looking at the fixtures and i am on holiday for the game at our place. Our boys might stand a better chance of a win with me away. Any new faces down in dundrum this year then?

paul. the banter between us & downpatrick will be SPICEY as their is nothing better than DERBY GAMES!!& home from racing & cant BELIEVE im up £ as all the tips i posted nearly all lost thank god for BETFAIR & betting in running as won 500£ sat but drank most off it but kept back 20£ for TAITOs bet! realy do agree that strangford road is top ground & ill wager this win lose or draw we will leave plenty£ over the bar as lt will be good to have the craic with new clubs this season. mister new york will win kempton tuesday.

Taito and Jeff if the derby matches are half as entertaining as the banter then there'll be a lot of fun and I'm sure a few drinks irrespective of the results. I've been to the Strangford Road and it's a lovely ground and from what you say Dundrum is also beautiful. If only they'd bring back the old County Down railway!

paul: it must be south sown speak or something thats why i understand jeff.
Jeff: I will have to consider that bet, it might make it interesting. As far as Leni saying that Dundrum are a village cricket team, well you now have the opportunity to prove him wrong.
Jeff if you know me at all you will know that any wages from CIYMS went straight back over the bar and probably more, it was just a ploy to increase the bar takings lol

Good article with Barry Chambers. Makes you appreciate what goes on these days and although he's paid for some of it there's no doubt a lot of what he does is at his own expense.
As for Jeff Maguire and Dundrum I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I don't understand the half of it. Is Taito some sort of translator?

Having played 8 seasons in section 2 NCU can i say that it will be very tough for any side to win. Like NCU Section 1 there are two noteable sides to look out for but this does not mean they cannot be beaten. Holywood im sure surprised themselves last year proving that the section 3 winners/promoted sides cannot be underestimated.Anyone about to play in Sect 2 will find an extremely competitive league but an enjoyable one devoid of all the pressures Section 1 brings.

Niall i didn't play at the biscuit factory, wicket wasn't wide enough for me!!!-probably dropped at that stage.
Biscuit factory is where Russler hit fidel for one of the biggest sixes ever and coops I think hit him for four fours in a row.

G Spot XI at the biscuit factory. It was like playing in the middle of FG Wilson. The little stream running around the boundary turned the ball green when it landed in it and I always check the label now when buying biscuits to ensure they don't come from Barbados. The last few steps up to the crease were like climbing a ladder and the factory workers couldn't be making any more than one packet of biscuits a day. The last thing you need on a stinking hot day on a dump of a ground that makes Fox Lodge look huge is Ryan Nurse and Fidel Edwards opening the bowling! What a day!

Speighstown will live long in the memory thats for sure. Big Daz might no longer be with us if i hadnt have intervened that night!! I think the big guy who resembled BA Baracus with all the bling on him shouted out to the dazzler something like "hey mon, my mother can bowl better than you", which nearly started world war 3!!!

Re The game at the biscuit factory, what a ground(donemmana esq) and what absolute carnage!!!

Great tour indeed!
